ISO 9000 to CMMI
In 1987, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published the ISO 9000 series of standards, designed to facilitate the development of organizational quality management systems. The model has been widely adopted by service organizations and by a large number of software developing organizations. The model has been significantly revised in the newer version ISO 9001:2000. Many companies have made a transition to the newer version while others might be looking to adopt CMMI model.
Adnet understands the ISO 9001:2000 version. Our team members have worked with organization making the switch from ISO to CMMI. We can map the ISO 9001:2000 to
CMMI-SE/SW, identify the gaps in the ISO model that needs to be filled in making the transition.
Organization can make the transition to maturity level 2, 3 or 4 of CMMI depending upon their level of maturity in implementing the ISO models and preference of the
organization.
